Trentonian TV Special: Pride of Trenton High

TRENTON -- Bryn Mawr-bound Jayah Feliciano knocked one fastball after another out of the park. But wait till you hear her answer Freedom's question about why she pursued Trenton High's valedictorianship with such vigor. Feliciano was part of a Trentonian TV Special, and joining the smartest girl in the studio were the fastest boys in the city, Trenton High's Meet of Champions-winning 4x400 relay team: Zyaire Clemes, Brandon Hill, Renard Howell and Jermaine Collier. Collier made more history Monday night by becoming just the second Jersey hurdler to sweep the hurdling events at the MoC.

For a production standpoint, I was not at my peak. The interview was set for 5 o'clock but did not begin till 5:05, and the champion speedsters had to be at their track banquet at 5:30 so Freedom and I shuffled them through. But Freedom did get Jermaine and Zyaire to commentate on video of the quartet's championship run. Zyaire and Renard are sophomores, so Trenton High has another two years of excellence on the track. Watch Zyaire's opening leg of the race; the kid is going places in track. Jayah's interview was strong. I was not pleased with the background noise during the last 5 minutes of her interview, but I'll also never complain about the energy our newsroom produces as deadline approaches.

Anyway, here's the pride and joy of Trenton High:
