BENNINGTON -- Art Gallery Dude laughs every time he thinks about how he should have told his mom the truth years ago after she personalized her license plates to say 2LCHAIM.
L'Chaim is a Jewish word that means "To Life!" and it's what you say just before drinking wine or Schlitz Malt Liquor, very much like you would say Cheers! in England or Salute! in Italy or Kanpai! in Japan or A Votre Sante! in France or Wen Lie! in China or Skal! in Sweden or Salud! in Spain or Prost! in Russian ...
... or Ooogy Wawa! with the Zulus.
The problem with 2LCHAIM is that its translation is 2 To Life! -- so she didn't need the 2 -- although AGD figures that LCHAIM was taken, what with being L.A. and all.
But it's the thought that counts. Momma AGD is a Jewish girl at heart, and her heart was in the right place with the 2LCHAIM.
So ... wine.
The woman in the photo above is Demetria Mason-Rogers of Trenton. AGD took that photo 219 days ago when he worked at The Trentonian newspaper and was better known as TTVD, or Trentonian TV Dude. He died a newspaper death two months later. Before then, April 24, he produced an episode of The Tyrone Miller Show in the lobby of the Trenton Marriott.
Just the other day a fan of this blog read the entry TTVD wrote (HERE) about that episode. AGD reminisced as he stared at the picture of Demetria holding that glass of rose.
"It's one of the best pictures I've ever taken," AGD told the Incredible Kulk.
A wine theme began to emerge after AGD stared at the picture. A day after looking at Demetria holding her rose, he attended church service at St. Peter's and drank the blood of Jesus in the form of wine (read yesterday's entry).
Then yesterday, newlyweds came to the gallery (again read yesterday's entry) and the new bride bought two wine glasses by Jason Silverman of Philadelphia ...
